Since I was a child I have always loved editorial shoots that feature on glossy pages in magazines like Vogue. There is something utterly majestic and ethereal captured by photographers when shooting with a concept in mind. As part of my re-branding I set about to create a little bit of editorial magic for you to share and enjoy and I hope you enjoy perusing these images as much as I enjoyed capturing them. We were incredibly lucky to have the amazing Regal Bridal supply the couture gown with detachable demi-cathedral train and veil. The venue was in and around the Intercontinental in Sydney, with its sweeping harbour views, luxury penthouse, grand ballroom and elaborate arches, it was the perfect venue to capture the images that flashed through my mind leading up to this shoot. The bouquet was supplied by Clementine Posy, and was so exceptionally beautiful. A designer suit and grooms accessories were provided from the amazing Jak and Jill, with hair by Connie and make up by the effervescent Michelle from La Lash Academy. The beautiful Danielle modelled the gown while the dapper Jeremy modelled the suit. What I have learned from editorial shoots? Shooting editorial and concept shoots offer me a chance to step out of my comfort zone, to challenge my skills, to create new uses of light and shade, the whole journey is learning and growing, however, the most important thing I have learnt is that you are as good as the team you work with. Without the incredible individuals and business’ mentioned this shoot would not have been what it was. I would like to thank you all for making this concept bridal shoot as special as it truly was.
